The Chinatown

The Chinatown

I can't quite explain why, but since the beginning of my photography adventure, Montreal's Chinatown is by far my favorite spot. There are other neighborhoods that I like a lot as well, like Downtown and Old Montreal, but for some reason I always come back to this one.

It’s easy to take tons of photos without a clear intention (thanks digital!), sort everything out later when you're back at home and trust you end up with a few good shots. That’s what I used to do when I first started. But as I progress along my photographic journey I realize I want to follow a more intentional approach. I want my photos to be meaningful. My personal definition of street photography is capturing mundane moments of life —moments fixed in time that bear witness of human existence.
